Day 78

Early this morning we crossed a bridge over a bone dry, rocky creek bed. A mile later, that creek bed turned into a huge waterfall 129 feet tall and nearly as wide. Burney Falls is a spring-fed waterfall that has hundreds of thousands of gallons of water flow over it every day, even when the creek upstream is completely dry. After the falls we walked over the Lake Britton Dam and then had a 2,500 foot climb. It was hot again today so we took our first siesta in 800 miles to avoid the sun.

Steps taken today/total: 52,272/3,144,491
Miles walked today/total: 25.52/1,437.95
Elevation gained today/total: 4,611/248,176
Elevation lost today/total: 3,680/257,456
