The PCT crosses I-15 at mile 342 near an interchange with the "official" PCT McDonald's. At this McDonald's they have a twenty dollar challenge that might be the best marketing gimmick I've ever seen. Hikers try to eat twenty items of the dollar menu coming off the trail and usually fail. At the McDonald's I met Grasshopper, Cowboy and Shimmy, from Knoxville, Ireland and Chicago, respectively. We waited out the midday heat and went out to do some night hiking.
