There was a steep descent into Belden today where we happened upon an electronic music festival happening literally on trail. The town had been rented out for the festival and hundreds of people were camped there for the weekend to go to shows and hang out in the river. The cacophony of the festival was the biggest culture shock I've had since coming out here. We sat in the shade for a few hours to avoid the midday heat and had the most interesting people watching session. In the evening I hiked out a few miles and left Plumas National Forest for Lassen.
